Dear Friends,

 

I am pleased to announce that our first summer Restaurant dinner social at Aldo‘s was a wonderful success. It was heartwarming to see such a great turnout of approximately 60 members, both old and new, gathered to enjoy good conversation, friendship, and delicious Italian food. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a memorable evening!

 

As we move into the heat of the summer, we bid a fond arrivederci to our “snowbird”

members who have returned north to enjoy cooler weather. However, it seems the tide is changing, and more members are choosing to stay in Naples longer each year to enjoy a quieter season. Naples offers peace, beauty, and a relaxed pace of life, a true paradise that we are fortunate to call home.

 

As we welcome the month of June, we also welcome the beginning of summer and the opportunity to reflect on the friendships and traditions that make our Italian American Society of Southwest Florida so special.

 

I would like to thank all of our members volunteers, officers and committee chairpersons for their dedication and support during another successful season your participation and enthusiasm help make our organization a warm and welcoming place for everyone.

 

As we look ahead, we are already planning exciting activities and events for the coming season. We look forward to gathering again on June 14 at Alberto‘s on Fifth to celebrate our culture, enjoy good food, meet new members, and continue building the traditions that make our society so meaningful. Please be sure to check our website for a complete list of June events, and remember to sign up early, as many events fill quickly because restaurants have a maximum capacity that they can accommodate.

 

Unfortunately, we will be losing one of our hard-working board members, Maryann Russello, at the end of this year due to her many other commitments. We are seeking a member with basic computer skills to fill this important position. The membership chairperson is responsible for processing new membership applications and notifying prospective members of their acceptance by email. The board meets once a month, except during June, July, in August.
